Sylvanix composite decking and cladding are designed to deliver beautiful, long-lasting performance with minimal maintenance. While our products are built to withstand the elements, a little routine care can help keep your outdoor spaces looking their best for years to come.
The good news? Keeping Sylvanix clean is simple: soap, water, and a little routine cleaning are usually all you need.

The best way to maintain your Sylvanix decking or cladding is to keep the surface clean and dry.
Dirt, pollen, moisture, and other debris can build up over time and may contribute to mildew staining. Sylvanix products are formulated to inhibit mildew growth and staining, but mildew stains can still occur when moisture and dirt or pollen are present.
For routine cleaning:
Remove loose dirt and debris from the surface.
Wash with soapy water and a soft-bristled brush.
Gently scrub the affected area.
Rinse thoroughly with water.
Periodic cleaning can help prevent dirt and grime from building up and keep your Sylvanix products looking their best.

Accidents happen. Many common spots and stains can be cleaned with soap or a household degreaser and warm water.
For the best results, clean stains as soon as they occur. Allow the affected area to soak before gently scrubbing, then rinse with warm water.
For more stubborn stains, a cleaner specifically designed for composite materials may provide more effective stain removal.

Everyday use can occasionally leave surface scratches or abrasions on composite decking.
The good news is that surface scratches and abrasions can fade naturally with weathering. For marks that need additional attention, we recommend using a brass-bristled brush.
Gently brush in the direction of the product's grain until the mark has been removed.
Tip: Always work in the direction of the grain when brushing the surface.

If you live in an area that receives snow, take care when removing it from your Sylvanix deck.
Use a plastic-blade shovel to help prevent scratching the surface. When shoveling, work in the same direction as the deck boards to help prevent the shovel from catching on the edges.
For light snow, a broom can also be used.
When melting snow or ice, we recommend ice melt approved for use on concrete, such as calcium chloride or magnesium chloride.
